Not So Mellow Yellow
Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season (I’m sure I will repeat that sentiment many times over the next few months!). I love the crisp air, the cozy sweaters, the pumpkin and apple picking, Halloween, cider, campfires, and most importantly, the fall foliage in the Northeast. There’s something about seeing the orange, golds, reds, and browns all working harmoniously together on the side of a mountain — fall foliage definitely creates some of nature’s best artwork.
Seeing the leaves start to change makes me want to incorporate some richer hues into my wardrobe. Out of all of these fall foliage colors though, I think the golden mustard color is my favorite to wear. It is universally flattering and looks incredible on all skin tones. It’s not too bright or so light that it washes you out; it simply makes you shine! Try it and I guarantee you’ll get compliments!
Here are some of my favorite mustard pieces for fall:
Burberry Belted Lambskin Leather Hobo, Nordstrom $1595
Tory Burch Charlie Small Tote, Neiman Marcus, $650
Proenza Schouler Blazer, Neiman Marcus, $1750
Alexander Wang Utility Miniskirt, Nordstrom, $345
Mustard yellow shawl, H&M $12.95
