It’s Party Time!

Many of us have Christmas or holiday parties around the corner, and it’s crucial to dress appropriately for these gatherings. When I R.S.V.P. to a holiday party, or any party for that matter, I make it my business to arrive sparkly, cheerful, and ready to mingle.

When dressing for work-related holiday parties, it’s important to not wear clothes that are too revealing. But it’s equally as important to show up festive to showcase your cool, non-work personality. No one likes a boring party attendee, so don’t be afraid to add some sparkle to your party wardrobe repertoire, whether the party is at your office, a country club, or a hotel bar.

When dressing for a holiday party thrown by friends or acquaintances, (mostly) anything goes! Sequins, sparkles, daring makeup, leggings, boots… whatever! If you’re decorating gingerbread houses with your BFFs with some wine, sweatpants are totally acceptable (duh!). But a swanky cocktail party at a friend of a friend’s requires an outfit with a bit more pizzazz. And plus, you never know who will be there!

Here are some suggestions that can work for all types of holiday parties:

Adrianna Papell Sequin Sheath Dress, Nordstrom $218

I don’t think anything can beat this gorgeous Adrianna Papell stunner! This dress is great because no accessories are needed — the dress has everything you need to shine! However, if you plan on wearing this to a work party, top it with a black blazer and opaque tights as to not show too much skin!

bebe Ophelia Glitter Platform Wedge, $120

If you are just dying to wear your favorite LBD, be sure to finish off the look with some sparkly, statement shoes. These bebe wedges are comfortable, sparkly, and come in a variety of colors (including hot pink!) so you can shine in style!

Cooperative Sequin Jacket, Urban Outfitters $89

For a more casual party, I’d pair this sparkly topper with a plain white tee shirt, jeans, and basic flats. It turns the most basic outfit into an instant head turner! And for a fancier party, pair this with a simple dress or black pants and heels for some more va-va-voom.

MICHAEL Michael Kors Sequin Knit Dress, Nordstrom $150

Here is another easy party idea that will work for many different venues and can be dressed up or down. I love the simplistic cut of the dress – a long sleeved basic shift dress – that can work with tights and flat boots for a more casual affair or colored pumps and fantastic jewelry for a dressy look that will never go out of style!

Hope you enjoyed these pieces! What are you planning to wear to your holiday parties this year?
